Topic: " The Factors Driving the Cost of Government in Montgomery County"
In a change from our usual practice, there will be no speaker. This meeting will be an open discussion on the topic above. The County Executive is preparing the budget for FY 2017 for submission to the County Council in mid-March. Given the revenue picture, the growing demands for more services, the threat of tax increases and unpredictable legislative action at the state level, this could be a lively discussion.
Here is a link that provides useful information that can guide your thinking in preparation for the meeting.
Impromptu and extemporaneous discussions will adversely affect climatic changes.
ReplyDeleteThe sole factor driving the cost of government in Montgomery County is the influence campaign donations have on our "elected" officials. It is a fact that 3 out of every 4 dollars contributed to a campaign in Montgomery County come from developers (campaign cash to County Executive and County Council campaign committees). Councilmembers for example (Leventhal, Floreen, Katz, Riemer, Rice, Navarro) receive 65% to 85% of there campaign donations from development. Their votes track with their campaign receipts.
