The Montgomery County Council fails to notify Montgomery County citizens that the 5 vacant Planning Board Commissioner seats are to be filled as follows per Maryland law:
A commissioner who is appointed to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term shall be a member of the same political party as the commissioner who vacated the office.
That means the Montgomery County Council is looking to fill the following unexpired terms on the Montgomery County Planning Board:
Term 2019 - 2023 Democrat
Term 2019 - 2023 Democrat
Term 2020 - 2024 Republican
Term 2021 - 2025 Independent
Term 2022 - 2026 Democrat
