Fox 45 Baltimore: Project Baltimore goes straight to state school board after months of unanswered questions

 Maryland has a $10 billion public school system, but the people in charge, members of Maryland’s State Board of Education, have not publicly acknowledged recent Fox45 News findings, including test scores that sparked a national outcry.

After months of unanswered questions, Project Baltimore went straight to state leadership.

The Maryland State Board of Education meets once a month at the State Education Building in downtown Baltimore. The board’s 13 members plus one student representative, all appointed by the governor, attend the meetings. So does the state superintendent, who the board appoints.

Since December 9, Project Baltimore has sent 12 emails to MSDE and called numerous times with questions about serious issues, including enrollment irregularities, ghost students, and state test scores. But for nearly three months, we’ve never received a reply. No calls. No emails.
