MCPS 7-year-old missing for hours after being dropped off at - DC News FOX 5 DC WTTG

Parent: 7-year-old missing for hours after being dropped off at - DC News FOX 5 DC WTTG

  1. This 7-year-old student is temporarily living in Laurel but still attending Bel Pre ES. And MCPS buses pick him up and take him back to Laurel under a "special program." How common is this type of transportation arrangement?

    1. That's not the issue and none of your business under privacy laws.

The child was on a MCPS school bus and was being transported home.

MCPS was responsible for the child. The child was left off at the wrong stop by a substitute driver.

Second time that we know of this school year.

    2. why is a summary of how often this type of transportation occurs NOT the taxpayers business? what privacy law applies here? no one asked why this child was doing anything, but how often mcps transports children throughout the state. what happened is awful and there a second issue has been addressed. no need to bite anyone's head off.

    3. If you want to file a Public Information Act request and find out this information, then please do and let us know the results.

But, how and why this child was on this bus is of no import to the story. The story is about control, custody and responsibility of a child by a public school system.
