WUSA9: Asbestos found at school building site in Montgomery Co.

  1. From asbestos.com, the below, which makes clear that MCPS knew when the original school was demolished that there was asbestos, yet they allowed it to be turned into a public park. So glad I don't live in Kensington! Anyone there getting lung cancer? You might what to call an attorney. Or, you can "trust" MCPS and the county council. I'm sure they'll "do the right thing."

    Because related diseases do not surface until decades after exposure, the health hazards created by this exposure did not receive widespread public attention until the late 1960s and the 1970s. That is when victims increasingly filed lawsuits against manufacturers for their injuries, claiming those manufacturers knowingly made them sick. Soon, the health risks of asbestos were too big to hide
