Starr wants to Add to Cell Tower Compound at Daly Elementary School

Daly Elementary School is the only MCPS elementary school that has a cell tower on its playground.

The cell tower was installed even though the Daly PTA and the school's neighbors were opposed to the plan.

Superintendent Jerry Weast didn't care about the PTA or neighbors and, apparently neither does Superintendent Joshua Starr.  Starr is moving ahead with AT&T's request to add to the Daly cell tower compound.

According to a November 2011 Opinion, the Board of Education now has a policy against putting cell towers on elementary school playgrounds.
Yet, Superintendent Starr is proceeding with this project and allowing a cell tower vendor on to school property to "sell".

Will Superintendent Starr give PTA time for those that want to respond to this vendor's sales presentation?

Will the Board of Education vote on this cell tower compound expansion, or will they simply ignore Superintendent Starr's actions and allow him to violate their new policy?

The December 4th, Daly ES PTA meeting included time for AT&T to make a presentation:

Our next PTA meeting will be December 4, 2012, at
7:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Along with our regular
agenda, representatives from AT&T will come and
answer questions about the co-location request to add
their service to the cell tower.
