MCPS teacher arrested, charged with second-degree assault

A Briggs Chaney Middle School teacher was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with three counts of second-degree assault, according to Montgomery County police.

The assault charges stem from incidents of unwanted physical contact with three female coworkers at the Silver Spring school, police said.

“We have three victims that have come forward,” said Cpl. Rebecca Innocenti, a spokeswoman for county police...

  1. Three? There were at least eight. He is and was a well-know sleaze ball and the administrators knew it and bullied the women who complained about this.

  3. This is what happens in MCPS. HR does nothing to protect women in this county, nor does MCEA. Consider what Floyd Starnes did to his staff, and MCPS kept him as principal of Kemp Mill Elementary. The woman and men who came forward at Kemp Mill were also bullied. Anne Kamenstein Bauman should have her position taken away from her for allowing this to happen.

    1. What this guy did was a crime, but Floyd "The Closet Sandusky" Starnes is still the principal of Kemp Mill ES?

  4. Here is the odd statement in the gazette article: Innocenti said someone other than a school staff person called police about Bowman

  6. No to worry. Maryland law has enough loopholes, analogous to Swiss cheese, so he'll be out on a technicality.

  7. The BCMS administration were more concerned with institutional ass covering than with protecting the victims of this thug's actions. They continually refer to his rights while bullying the victims in this situation. Is the principal sleeping with this guy or what? If my wife were a victim of this creep, I would sue the school system and him personally. This principal has to go, she is a disgrace to education and managing people.

  8. Why did the Parents Coalition publish the closet documents regarding Kemp Mill ES's principal Floyd Starnes' closet antics with male students & fail to secure the remaining documents of May's $108,000,000 lawsuit against him?

    1. If you have documents you want to make public, then send them to us and we will post them. There is no "staff" here. This is grassroots advocacy. If you have documents, send them along and we will post.
