In the Monday, June 7, 2010, Washington Post, arts education advocate Susan Katz Miller describes Einstein's Visual Arts Center as the school system's "hidden jewel." This hidden jewel is scheduled to be cut in half.
According to the Post, Board of Education Pat O'Neill claims that there was "little breathing room" in the budget.
Did the Post ask about the $1.6 million dollars in techno-goodies scheduled on the consent agenda for Tuesday? Any breathing room there? $130,000 to Gartner, Inc.? What's that for? A half-million dollars to Northwest Evaluation Association? Any "breathing room" there?
