MCPS teachers can telework under terms of 2011-2014 Contract
In the new contract with the teachers union, MCPS will now allow teachers to telework on professional days. Here is the section of the contract that spells out this change.
I object. When teachers were REQUIRED to attend training in support of the decision to close the secondary learning center, only 1/2 of those required to attend did so. Further there were NO CONSEQUENCES for those who failed to attend.
So how has this same group earned the right to tel-work now.
I'd say that the failure to attend MANDATORY TRAINING should exclude a staff member from being allowed to participate in this program.
