BOE Received Legal Advice on Criminal Investigation into their use of MCPS Credit Cards




On June 17, 2014, the Montgomery County Board of Education received legal advice regarding the criminal investigation initiated by the Office of State Prosecutor into their use of MCPS credit cards. The following information is from the Closed Session Minutes of the June 17th meeting. 


  1. Received legal advice regarding the work of the Ad Hoc Committee for Review of Board Processes and Guidelines on Board Expenditures, and the Subpoena received from the State Prosecutor, as permitted under Section 10-508(a)(7) of the State Government Article.

The MCPS Operating Budget is now covering the attorney's fees for Board of Education members.

  3. Does this mean that public education money is being spent protecting the abusers of public education money? Please say it's so!!!!
