As is so often stated by Ms. Sartucci on this blog...what's a musty old law anyway? Maintenance of Effort is the LAW, and for the third year in a row the County Council wants to disregard the LAW. Why is it some laws are OK to ignore and others aren't Ms. Sartucci?

ReplyDeleteI believe you are confusing me with Superintendent Jerry Weast who believes that laws get "old".
The Maintenance of Effort law does not require that the school system be funded at a certain level with no other alternatives. Rather it imposes a penalty if the required funding is not there. It is still following the law to pay the penalty.
