Montgomery lacking in services for special needs students (full letter at this link)
According to the Montgomery County Public Schools website, it is "the 16th largest in the United States." Having worked in the Montgomery County Public Schools, and being the parent of a special needs child, I think that more related special education services should be provided. I base this on comparisons to other county public schools, such as those in neighboring Carroll and Howard counties...
...For a school system that takes pride in being the 16th-largest school system in the nation, the speech services offered to special needs students on an individual basis are considerably less than those of the smaller neighboring school systems. MCPS should follow Howard and Carroll counties' example.
